US boot brand recalls shoe that leaves swastika imprints

A California shoe company has recalled a bootafter a customer discovered the sole left tiny swastika prints behind.

The boot went viral after a Reddit user posteda picture showing the shoe's tread and its swastika imprints.

Conal International Trading Co, the City ofIndustry company that manufactures the boot, has since issued a public apology and pulledthe shoe.

The company said it was "no way intentional"and an "obvious mistake" made by manufacturers in China.

"We will not be selling any of our boots withthe misprint to anyone," the company said in a statement.

"We would never create a design to promotehate.

We don't promote hate at our company.

" The Reddit user's post has been viewed morethan two million times, sending social media into a flurry.

"There was an angle I didn't get to see whenordering my new work boots," the Reddit user wrote.

"The soles don't look that much like swastikas,but the prints are unmistakable," a Reddit user wrote.

"And whoever made the soles wouldhave understood that.

" Another Amazon user quipped: "Good for marchinginto Poland, but not so good for much else".

The listing was removed from Amazon on Thursday.

The boots also gained the attention of thepopular neo-Nazi website, Daily Stormer, where they were called a "must have", the WashingtonPost reported.

German weekly magazine Stern also pointedout the boot's name, Polar Fox, shares a name with a World War Two military operation.

Polarfuchs, or Polar Fox, was an operationin which German and Finnish soldiers captured Salla, Finland from the Soviet Union.

dollar tree shoe shine kit how to shine and polish boots hi it's AlaskaGranny on a recent trip to the Dollar Tree I found a small shoe shine kit you can see it's small and it comes in a package that is actually quite well made and it has a zip top and it's not just like a zip-top bag it's a thicker vinyl almost like a shower curtain liner so it's pretty nice inside the pouch is a nice big cloth the cloth is more velvety on one side than the other there are two little tins of boot and shoe Polish there's a brown shoe polish and a black shoe polish and they have the twist open and that pushes the lid off there's the brown polish and there's the black polish I want to use this on my favorite cowboy boots you can see they're all scuffed because I love them I wear them all the time and they could use some polishing so the first thing I'm going to do is put down a paper towel so they don't get any icky stuff on my counter then I'm going to take an old microfiber cloth and I'm going to wipe any loose dirt off of my boot now I'm going to take the backside of the cloth for the application and then I'm going to use the velvet side for polishing so I'm going to wrap it around my finger get it nice and tight I'm going to dab it into the polish when you polish your shoes you want to get the Polish around evenly so you want to first dab different spots before you begin then go back and spread it around wow I think my boots already looks better I think it looks better already don't you let me try a second coat I think they're covered pretty well so I'm going to unwrap my cloth and turn it around to the velvety side ok that's the boot I polished and that's the one before so here's a before and after I think it looks much better so for only one dollar I think that the Dollar Tree shoe polish kit is a success time to shine the second boot so check out this shoe polish kit from the Dollar Tree and keep your shoes and boots looking as good as possible I can store it all back in the bag ready for next time learn more at alaskagranny.

Blundstone 550 Boots Review (2+ Years) Shoe Review

hey everybody today i'm reviewing my Blundstone 550 boots I've had them for years and years now and they're still going strong and I don't plan on replacing them anytime soon let me just start out by saying the year i got these i wore them every single day they were my they were my everyday shoe on stage going camping, at the mattress store.

everywhere I went these are the shoes.

i'm gonna look back to my amazon account and see exactly how long I've had these Blundstone boots july first 2014 i ordered a pair in size 10 and the next day I sent them back for a nine and a half so in the US i wear a ten-and-a-half so i guess In Australian size I wear a nine and a half the 10 probably would have been fine but i wanted something that hugged my foot a little bit more so I ended up with the nine and a half so I've had them for about two-and-a-half years so they started out like this and now they look like this so I'll address a few of the things i see on amazon reviews I've had these for going on three years and they've never leaked water and I've stepped in many puddles I don't do manual labor for a living where i'm like walking in the mud or the water or anything like that I'm not scared to step in a puddle with you things I've never had any kind of moisture leak in.

there are people on amazon that have had them for a long time and said that eventually they will leak water around the toe but for me I've never had a problem with that people are also pointing out the polyurethanes they used to use in the soles that would crumble has all been completely replaced most likely if you read the reviews of these you'll see that people had the soles crumble but realistically you probably don't need to worry about that anymore i have not had any issues you can actually see it was an interesting one these lines right here where I rested my feet against the campfire ring camping two years ago I've worn them in the snow an d worn them in the water Ive warn them when it was dry they came with two insoles Iwear them with the thinnest insole if you were going to add an insole or an orthotic anything like that to these you would definitely want to order one size up with the thinnest insert these come with they're still pretty tight round top of the foot the arch support is pretty far back but it's not bad it's the arch supports decent in these if you compare this like a converse all star that has no arch support it's fantastic obviously if you have a specialty needs and you can add an insole just buy a size up all and all the arch supports pretty good it's not like a cowboy boot where you feel the heel and then the bump down it's a lot more comfortable than that some people do mention that it's a pretty narrow boot and I can see if you have really wide feet you might want to look elsewhere my feet are right on the edge of average too wide and i have no issues you can see right here where my foot and kind of hung over the soul but it's never been an issue it's never been a comfort issue for me so these are the 550 and have the soft leather sewn-in I've never worn the 500 but from what I understand the 500 have a little bit more room inside because they don't have the soft leather sewn in.

A few guys on amazon have commented about how they also own red wing and other high-end boots said the Blundstones are great because you just put them on and go and they break-in easy that's true i mean the first week of wore these they were pretty stiff but they broke in fast it only took a few weeks for them to really feel like my boots and after a month and even a year they feel like an extension of you when you put them on it's like oh yeah it's MY BOOTS so basically all the positive reviews just say Best Boots EVER ever been wearing them for years everyone should own them this guy says it took nine years for my first pair to wear out so i bought the exact same style again and i must say is that the fit, comfort and overall quality is much improved so there's reviews like that right there on amazon so generally the one two three star reviews are size issues so if you order these and get them in the wrong size, by all means send them back, send them right on back and get the right size there's no reason there's no reason for a shoe like this that you can get in any size easily that you shouldn't just mail it on back and get the right one it's so easy to send something back on the internet these days like the, the fedex or UPS guy just shows up and it's like hey I'm here for that package you don't have to do anything to put it back in the boxes and tape on it by the way the nickname for Blundstone boots is Blunnies and I'm not from Australia obviously and i don't really know but if you read the internet there's a lot of lore about these beaing like standard in Australia maybe Maybe Chris form Australia can comment on this and let us know another thing I'd like to point out right now it does say tasmania Austalia on there but realistically the tag on the inside says made in vietnam there were a lot of complaints on the internet that weren't necessarily about the quality of the shoe but people just complaining that they had sent the manufacturing to Vietnam instead of tasmania I feel that an American where a lot of the stuff we get made in China or India or Vietnam I think the quality of these just as high as a lot of stuff that I on this man USA are made in Europe so I wouldn't say the fact that these are made in Vietnam takes anything away but perhaps they should change the Tasmanian Australia label so I wore these all over Colorado for oiur 2015 trip and they were great for walking on the trail they were great for walking down Main Street whenever town we were in but when i SAT around a campfire in the cold my feet would get cold the leather that wasn't facing the campfire would get cold they're not the best shoes for keeping your feet warm in cold weather the leather gets cold and then your feet get cold because there is not any upper insulation in there so literally what I found myself doing was taking these off and holding my socks by the.

like holding my feet by the fire in my socks and then putting these back on to hold that warmth in for a little bit but then the cold boot would cool my feet back off.

if you have to walk in snow all the time then obviously you're going to need a different boot but for mild climate these things are absolutely fantastic of course now looking at the Amazon reviews there's plenty of people that have them that live in cold climates and said is they're too warm because they're not breathable I'm not sure for me they were great except for the night when it's really cold and we're hanging out outside and I was just sitting around those only time I felt like these things where I keep my feet perfectly warm but yeah they're not like the standard boot in America and supposedly they are in Australia but I don't really know since i've owned them i've noticed characters on TV wearing them i think the guys on criminal minds were wearing them i'm i'm not sure anymore but i have seen them on TV shows that it's always interesting when you own a shoe and then you see the guys on TV wearing it on the 550 the leather is fully died while on the 500 only the outside is dyed um.

and I guess that's why as these wear they don't show any really light spots on the 550 series a few different color combinations between the letter color and the cloth color i'd really like it if I could get a custom pair this is like a crazy color that'd be awesome one of the things that makes a pair of blundstones cool is knowing how they wore down like this scratch right here I totally did on a set of bed rails at the mattress store trying to pick it up with my foot so I mean when you have some blundstone you know.

also these scratches on the back that's where I turned the wheel lock on or off on the dolly that we use for music equipment so you're blundstones are like the historic record of the things you've done with your feet i remember when i got these in the mail my first impression was WOAH those are really Brown when you first receive them in the mail the whole boot looks like this color up here uhh and it takes a while for them to fade out.

so when i first got them they're like they're kind of a weird dark brown for my style it took a while for them to really get beat up like this like maybe here I just wore 'em and wore 'em and you know they became like an extension of me anyway there's not much to say if you don't already have a pair of Blundstones you should have one they're pretty inexpensive by chelsea boot standards and they hold of great so give me a thumbs up for these awesome blundstone boots and if you don't already subscribe to my channel go ahead and subscribe I make new videos every day and I do reviews probably about once a week and leave me some comments because if you owned these shoes before I would like to know what you think that'll help anybody to watch this video and if you don't need to have some questions just drop them in the comments below anyway i'm BIRDSNAKE and this has been my review of Blundstone 550 thanks for watching however one everybody everybody everybody today I'm doing a review everybody everybody everybody everybody Blundstone 550 boots hi everyone hi everyone.

Not the Ultimate Dust Shoe / Two-Part Acrylic CNC Extraction Boot

In this video I am going to make a dust shoefor the CNC machine.

I’m going to base mine on a two part designwhich uses magnets to attach the brush section to an upper part which is clamped onto thespindle.

You can see this Parametric Dust Shoe by CNCRouterParts.

Comand a similar one by KentCNC – which I’m using as inspiration.

Theirs sells for quite a lot but the materialcost shouldn't be too high.

The main different I will make, is splittingthe bottom section with the brush into two so I can more easily remove them to changebits.

I am cutting out a practice piece from 9mmMDF to check the design before I use more expensive acrylic for the final version.

I made this design from scratch, using anolder version of ArtCAM.

However, this version isn’t available anymore and their subscription software is really expensive, but you could create a vector filein software like Inkscape, for free.

So this this came out really well.

I am really impressed.

The finish is not too bad considering I useda 1/8 of an inch bit which was probably about 30mm long.

So that's quite a long bit.

If I used a smaller bit that's held up inthe collet a bit higher I probably reduced some of these lines at the bottom, which tobe honest are barely visible.

That's a really good finish.

And the thing I suspect and will double checkthis now.

Look at that, barely went through to the wasteboard.

This measured as 9.

12mm and I set that inthe software, and it didn't cut into the waste-board at all.

It's so accurate.

I can't believe I've built a machine withbirch-ply plates and it cuts better than the bloody xcarve.

It is difficult to clamp stuff down on sucha small bed, I feel like I'm really wasting material because I'm trying to hold everythingflat.

That really should have been all the way overthere but I was nervous about putting a metal mending bracket so close to edge.

Of course if I clamp something like this Iwouldn't have any room.

Because of the fixed deign of top section,I will have to make different bottom section with various length of brushes to cover thedifferent bit and material depth combinations.

So I've bought a couple strips of this brusheddraft excluder.

Each one cost about 2 quid from my local Wilko.

And I've done the sensible thing of actuallycutting my template and test dust shoe out before I had the chance to measure the metalalong here.

It's a little bit bent because I've alreadytried to bed it.

This all comes out.

It's a pretty decent price for two quid, andI've obviously spent four for this.

What I'm going to try do is check whetherI can cut it, how it's assembled, whether the brushes fall out, if I can bend it andso no.

I did look for flexible brushed draft excluderbut couldn’t find anything here in the UK.

The rigid stuff in contrast was really cheap.

By the looks of it I think the way this ismade, there is a wire that goes in the centre of the brush which is laied out like that,and it is folded over with this piece of aluminium to keep it in position.

And that sorta crimps over the central rodor whatever's in there.

In retrospect it would have been easier ifI had design the grooves for the brushes as a collection of straight lines – but thatmight have impacted the feng shui of the machine.

Alternatively I could have used Ethylene-VinylAcetate or EVA craft foam sheets.

You can get these in various thicknesses andthey can be glued and are easily cut.

I decided to make a template to clamp thebrush-strip against, and create the shape I needed.

The machine might seem a bit slow, but that’sbecause the acceleration is still left at 10mm/sec2 – but as I’m still getting toknow how this machine operates I’ll play around with that when I feel a bit more confident.

The channel is a little tight for the brush,so I will adjust the vector file to compensate.

I am now drilling some holes into the acrylicto work out the offset needed to get as tight a fit as possible for the magnets I will beusing.

Ok I've just spent an hour trying to cut differentholes out doing area clears just to see if I get the setting right.

The feed-rate and step-over so this 7mm magnetcan actually fit inside and I've managed to get it to the point where I've had to hammerit in, and I can't get it out now.

But that's not a bad thing because I essentiallywant this to be stuck in there, and if I can avoid using any glue that's even better.

It took a while to get the setting right butin the end I used an RPM of 15000, a feed rate of 620 mm/min and a plunge rate of 200mm/min,and the thing no one ever tells you – a step over of 25% of the bit width.

I am using 1/8 of an inch bits which is 3.

175mm,so 25% of that is roughly 0.

79mm.

Knowing the step-over is important becauseI’ll be doing an area clear for the magnets and the brushes.

The bits are quite long, and this can effectthe speed and step-over.

Shorter bits are more rigid and thereforeyou can go faster, a longer bits can more easily flex and should be ran slower.

The chips look amazing on this.

I mean nothing melted.

It looks like snow.

So I made a few mistakes in the end, crackingthe acrylic where I would pass the clamping bolt through and realising I wanted to changethe design after I had cut parts out.

Ahh you f**k.

The size of the machine screw heads was alsotoo large and left a gap between the top and bottom pieces of acrylic.

I'm not sure how that will effect the extractionif I'll be pulling air from here as well as from the bottom.

I eventually cut a few different versionsas I went along, and even improved my drilling technique.

This is how drilled the hole for the clampingscrew, learning from the mistakes from the first attempt.

I used a centre drill bit to first mark whereI would drill through and also placed a piece of mdf between the gap to prevent the piecesflexing.

I added small 1/8 inch through holes wherethe magnets would fit so I could push the magnets out if I ever needed too.

and Idid.

I also noticed that magnets become weakerif they are struck – so here's some advice, don't use a hammer.

I eventually changed to machine screws withsmaller diameter heads because one magnet was moved out of alignment when acrylic wasclamped to the spindle.

But these were also thinner could use that1/8 inch through holes to push the magnets back so they made a positive contact.

andI simply push.

The last thing I did was use larger garagedoor draft brushing, to make a second dust shoe attachment.

I had to cut each section in half so it couldshape and push them into position.

This was arduous work and my hands were achingafterwards.

That was hard.

So you probably want to see this in action,and here it is.

I'm cutting a piece of MDF.

I’m actually cutting a test plate for thesecond version of this CNC machine.

I designed this on Fusion 360 with parametersto help develop the design and solve some of the problems with the first version.

The joke it I have redesign the CNC machineto the point now that if I make a new one, I will also have to redesign the dust shoe.

So this is not the ultimate dust shoe.
