- What's up, guys? Matt from the FootballBoots Team, and today, we are here to bring youthe top ten best boot hacks to help you get boots betterfitting, better feeling, and also better performing.
So let's get right into our first one.
Okay, guys, so our first hackactually comes as two parts.
So there are two massivebonuses to this boot hack.
And we have got some Forcefield protector.
But you can use any kind of Crep Protect.
But what this does is firstly, gonna waterproof your football boots.
And secondly, hopefullyit's also gonna mean that you don't have to cleanthem as often or as much.
So let's get right into how to use it.
Now this stuff is actually so good.
I use it on all my trainers.
And what they say is, "The Forcefield protector'selite technology "provides armor-likeprotection and waterproofing "for all types of footwear, outerwear, "backpacks and also hats.
"The invisible coatingshields fabric from damage "and prevents fading, keepinggear looking newer longer.
" So what we have to do is first, you give it a good old shake up.
We've got a pair of football boots here.
Make sure that these are clean first.
Give it a good old shake.
And then all you need to do is spray it onto the actual upper.
Don't put it onto the sole pad, 'cause it won't really makethat much difference there.
What you want is go all across the upper, and also across the tongue.
'Cause that's where you wantit to be most waterproof.
So after giving it a little shake, all you need to do, open it up, hold it about 30 centimetres away, that's what I recommend.
Maybe a little bit similarto deodorant in the morning.
And then all you need to do is just spray it on top.
And first, you'll noticeit goes a little bit shiny.
So it will give your boots anice looking finish as well.
So just spray it all over the upper.
You don't need to use too much, really.
Just keep spraying it,make sure it's all coated.
And then once you've done it, I'll bring it in a littlebit closer for you.
It says use sparingly.
So make sure it's all over.
And then as a little bit of a closeup, where you guys are.
I'll bring it a little bit closer as well for you in a second.
We'll do a nice big closeup, just so you guys can see.
And then once this is dry, what we'll do, we'll poursome water over the top, to show you guys just howwell this really does work.
So here's a closer look atthe two different boots.
On this side, these haven'tbeen given any waterproof and any protection, and this is the pair which have.
So what we'll do now is just wait five minutes for it to fully dry.
So let's actually get into it to find out if it actuallydoes make a difference, this Forcefield protection.
So I've got my water bottle, and all we'll be doing is spraying it over the top of the upper.
And as you guys can see, I'm literally pouring it on top.
And literally the waterisn't going anywhere inside the boot.
It's just sitting on top.
Hope you guys can pick that up on camera.
But the water is literally Icould just shake it all off.
And your foot inside the bootis gonna stay incredibly dry.
Which means the water'snot gonna go inside, making the boots heavy.
They're gonna stay waterproof, which is gonna be brilliant, especially in those winter conditions.
So how often do you need todo this protection coating? Well, they say it lasts about 12 months, but that is for trainers.
Obviously football boots, much more wear, much more aggressive playduring your 90 minutes.
So I'd say do it afterevery time you wear them.
So wear them for your football, give 'em a quick clean, andthen put this spray on top.
Leave them for a couple of minutes, and then they are ready to go again.
Little bit similar to Nike's ACC, but this just makes surethe waterproofing is 100%, every time you wear them.
So that is our first hack.
So let's move on to number two.
Now for any of you guys thatwatch our videos regularly, or know me, will know that I personallywear the Hypervenom Phinish.
I love the boot so much.
I think they're quality.
But there is one problem with them, which I actually have to address.
And that is the sock liner inside the boot just moves around so much.
There's no NikeGrip, and they're also not stuck in properly.
Now there is one way to conquer this, which we're gonna show you now.
Now what I've got besideme are two pairs of boots, which I've tested fairly recently.
And I experienced the exact same problem.
Both the Opus II and the Vapour XI come with very standard sock liners, no NikeGrip.
And when I was actually testing them, after about half an hour, once my feet got a little bit warm, and also the uppers startedto stretch a little bit, the sock liner started tomove around ever so slightly.
Now two ways that you can do this.
They're both very similar.
But firstly, you cantake the sock liner out, and spray the plate witha little bit of hairspray, and also the bottom of the sock liner.
Now after you spray it with the hairspray, put it back in, stick it downfor maybe like five minutes, put some weight on it.
And trust me, it will stayon a lot longer than it would just normally.
So using hairspray is the first way to deal with this situation.
But there is a second way.
It's a little bit more unique, but it works so much more powerfully.
So if anyone you guys that go to physio, and if you get that Ktape to help your muscles, then you'll sometimes usethis spray just before it.
Now that spray is someof the stickiest stuff I've ever felt in my life.
If you put the tape on top of the spray, it won't move for over a week.
Trust me, it is unbelievably powerful.
So if you can use that spray across the bottom of the sock liner, and then stick it into your soleplate, your sock liners won't movewhatsoever for such a long time.
But just make sure that youdo want those sock liners to be the ones inside the boots.
Because once you stick them in there, there's probably notgonna be any chance of it coming out at all.
So of course, I mentionedabout my Phinish, and how I love them so much.
But the sock liner was aproblem for me, and still is.
Now one thing which isgreat about the Phantom 3, so the upgraded model, is that the sock liner actually comes with NikeGrip technology.
Now firstly, it just means that when the sock is on top of the sock liner, it won't move whatsoever.
But it also features onthe actual plate itself inside the boot.
So the sock liner stays attached very much more comparedto the Phinish ones.
So this next boot hack might bemy favourite one of all time.
It's so effective, and you're pretty muchgetting two pairs of boots for the price of one.
Now you're not actuallygetting two pairs of boots, but what you are getting is a soleplate which canchange its stud configuration.
We've got the old school Nitrocharges, but this works in allthe Adidas boots as well, which have just been released.
We've got an SG soleplate here.
On the right-hand side, exactly the same boot, but we've got FGs completely.
And the reason for that is Adidas's SG boots actuallycome with replaceable FG studs.
So you can change them as you want.
All SG, all FG, or you cando a combination as well.
It really is that effective.
So guys, when we boughtthese Nitrocharges, they did come as the SGsoleplate, the ones here.
But since then, we gotthe replacement studs, and we made them into a full FG pair.
But let's just say, the pitches are startingto get a little bit wetter, and we want to start toput some SG studs back in.
So you're probably gonnawant them at the back here, in the heel.
So all you need to dois unscrew these ones.
Really simple, take theother one out as well.
And the nice thing about thesereplacement studs, the FG, is that they come withdifferent sizes as well.
So you can put the longer ones in the back where you want them, and also an the front youcan get the smaller one.
So you can pretty much customise them exactly the way you want.
But let's just say wewanna put those studs back in the heel.
We've got our tube.
And simple as putting them in like that.
So in the space of maybe a minute, you've literally gone from a SG to a FG, and then into a combination as well.
So that is so simple.
Great boot hack.
So if you are playing onon soft ground pitches and also firm ground, then you could definitely gofor an Adidas model over Nike.
Because Adidas are theonly boots out there which can only do this with.
So guys, we've all been there.
We've got a new pair of boots that we went in for training on matches, and by the end of the session, the tongue is all the wayrolled over to the side, which is really frustrating.
But there is a way toactually counter this.
And also helps the overall responsive, locked down, and snug fit.
Now all you need to make sure, is got an extra lace hole at the top.
Now, when you're actually lacing them up, don't go crisscross on the final one.
Pull it through the top,to make a little loop here.
So we do the same on the other side.
We make a little lace hoop, push it through the top.
And now we've got an extra hole.
Now when you're actuallygoing to tie them up, you're gonna go through those holes.
And then you pull them tight and trust me, that tongue isn't gonna move whatsoever for the whole 90 minutes.
And also it makes such atighter fit around the ankle.
So this lacing technique wasactually done by Lionel Messi back in the day.
We've got his Mirosar10 Adizeros here, and of course these were hissignature boots at the time.
So that's why they came withan extra lace hole at the top.
So he could create this top lacing hoop, to make sure the fit isgonna be absolutely top level in terms of being locked down.
So guys, this next boot hackis absolutely essential.
If you've bought a pairof boots the wrong size, you can't send them backfor whatever reason, they might be half a size too big, or half a size too small.
Now there's a couple of waysto actually alter the sizes, make them shrink, or makethem stretch a little bit.
Now the first one is if theboots are half a size too big.
Now this is really quick, really simple.
All you need to do is drenchthe boots in warm water, make sure they're absolutely soaking wet, and do exactly the same witha pair of football socks.
Now once they are soaking wet, all you need to do is put the sock on, and then put the boot on as well.
So at that time, you've got asoaking wet pair of socks on, and a soaking wet pair of boots on.
Now all you need to do is standthere, sit there, lay down, and just wait until yoursock is completely dry.
And trust me, by the time that's happened, the boots are just shrunk half a size.
So just make sure that youdon't want to send these back for whatever reason.
You're happy with the boots.
Want to make them shrink ever so slightly, and trust me, this willdo that perfectly for you.
So then what's the secondway to actually give you guys a little bit more space in your boot? Maybe 'bout half a size or so.
Well, you can stretch them out as well.
All you need to do is get one of those bags witha little sealer on top.
Fill it up about threequarters of the way up.
Now once you got that bag, put them into the boot itself, push it in right towards where the toe is.
Tie the laces really tightly up.
And then once you've got that and you put it into the freezer overnight.
Now you need to leave itin the freezer overnight to make sure that it'sproperly gonna expand.
Because once the water actually freezes, it will just make itexpand ever so slightly.
And trust me, this is really powerful.
So it will actually make a big difference to the overall fit.
So overnight, you leave it in there.
It's got the bag of waterwhich is now frozen.
You take it out in the morning.
You take the bag out, and then you actually put the boots on, and you will, trust me,feel a big, big difference in terms of the fit.
They will just feelslightly stretched out.
Now if you wanna stretch it even more, you can just keep repeating the process.
But just make sure youreally wanna do this because there is a slight chance that you could damage the upper.
So guys, this next boothack is gonna be perfect if you're in two situations.
Firstly, you bought a brandnew pair of football boots, and they're half a size toobig, and for whatever reason, you can't send them back.
Or secondly, you'vebeen wearing your boots for such a long time, that they've actuallystretched and are now too big.
Now what can you do to actually help this? Well, if you can't send them back, or if they are just stretchedout and they're too big now, you can simply just putanother pair of sock liners inside the boot.
Which is exactly what you might need for the pair of Purecontrol.
The sizing in these boots is so iffy.
You have to get in theperfect size for you.
Too tight, and you get reallybad blisters on the back.
And too loose, and your foot slides around and gets some real bad heel slippage.
Now all you need to do is get your second pair of sock liners.
Hopefully you can get thenearest ones as possible to the actual model it was.
And you've got the original ones in there.
And just slide these ones on top.
We've mentioned this before, but trust me, it's such a good boot hack for customising the fit.
And just like that, theseare now half a size smaller.
So if they had stretched,or they are too big, you've now just conquered that within the space of two minutes.
So guys, we got Blake in the background taking some pictures.
And this boot hack was his one.
Because this is something which he does in his own personal boot life.
Before he buys any pair of football boots, he goes to the sports shopand actually tries them on.
So although you can pickthem up online cheaper, you can definitely go to a sports shop, try them on to make surethey're gonna fit you firstly, in terms of width.
And you can also get theperfect sizing for you.
So just say I wanted the Purecontrols.
Go down to the sportsshop, ask to try them on, do they firstly fit me in width? And secondly, what size do I want? Once you've got those answers, go online, and search for the best price.
And again, very similarin Mercurial Vapour XIs, very tight-fitting boot overall.
If you've never had them, you might not know if they're actually gonna fit your type of foot.
Go down to a sports shop, trythem on, make sure they do.
And if they do, thengo and buy them online with all those vouchercodes, discount codes.
They're gonna be much cheaper than what you found ina football boot shop.
Yes guys, we've all been there.
We play 90 minutes on thewettest, muddiest pitch you've ever played on in your life.
Now by the end of it, you'vegot the muddiest boots.
All that pitch has nowbecome onto your boots, and it's an absolute disaster.
Now you can spend loads of time, and make of loads of messwith a toothbrush, a brush, and Fairy liquid, makingthe boots clean again.
But trust me, it is such a balaba.
There is a better way to do it.
Now on screen now, we are showing you how to put your bootsin the washing machine using a brand new product.
It is so simple.
It doesn't do any damage to the boots, or damage to the washing machine.
There have been a couple offootball channels out there who've said, "Don't put yourboots in the washing machine! "It's gonna kill your boots.
"Don't do it, do not put yourboots in the washing machine.
" I can confirm to you, putting my boots in the washing machine, for my entire playing career, it won't do any damage, whatsoever, unless they are leather.
So if you have leather football boots, then do clean them properly.
But if you have syntheticboots or knitted boots, literally put them in the bag, stick them in the washing machine.
But you don't even need thebag at the end of the day.
That's just an ended bonus.
So if you do have muddy boots like these, stick them in the washing machine.
That's what I'm gonna dostraight after this video.
So it's coming into preseason, and I can almost guarantee that at least 75% ofus are gonna experience some kind of blister on our feet.
Firstly, due to the very hard ground.
And secondly, because ofbrand new football boots.
But there is one way to help with blisters on the back of the heel.
But it is very extreme, and something I probablywouldn't recommend.
And we saw it from Philippe Coutinho in the latter stages ofthis season just past.
Now, he wears the Mercurial Vapour XI, and what he did when he got a heel blister was actually cut out the backportion in a square shape.
As I said guys, it is very extreme.
But just say your blisters are that bad, you're playing so much football that it's not actually healing, what you can do isactually cut out a shape, on that specific part of the foot, to make sure there'sno additional pressure hitting that area, which is causing pain.
Yes guys, this is the boothack that you're all here for and all want to know.
How do you get free boots for life? Well, it's not actually that simple, but what you can do issend you boots back to Nike for whatever reason, withinone month to get a new pair.
Now you can only really do it once because it might affect yourfuture purchasing rights, but just say you get aVapour XI or the Phantom 3, you've gone for akickabout with your mates, and you don't reallylove the way they fit, feel, or perform.
So what you can do issend them back to Nike and ask for a differentmodel or a different size.
But you can only do it once, as I said, because it might affectyour rights as a purchaser.
So there it is guys, the black and orange team'stop ten best boot hacks to help you guys with any boot issuesyou may be experiencing.
But what's been your favourite? And also, what ones have youtried yourself in the past? Please let us know in thecomment section below.
But that pretty muchwraps up today's video.
So I hope you've enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching, cheers.
